Louis van Gaal gives Man Utd players & staff early Christmas present

Manchester United’s Louis van Gaal is spreading the Christmas love already, by giving his players and staff Christmas Day off – the first time that has happened at Manchester United in 27 years. Under Sir Alex Ferguson, the players used to train on Christmas Day morning before being allowed home.

However Van Gaal has changed that tradition, and hopefully it’ll pay off with a victory against Newcastle on Boxing Day.

When quizzed about it, Van Gaal said:

“I have changed that, I have given them free time and Christmas day with the family,” He told MUTV.

“We shall come together the next day here at our Aon Training Complex. Then we will have all of the meetings like we have done all season.”

Its great that Van Gaal has decided the lads can have Christmas Day off this time around. Its nice that they’ll be able to enjoy the day with their families and loved ones before getting back to work and playing football the day after.
