Louis van Gaal hints at no more signings at Manchester United this summer

Manchester United take on Newcastle United tomorrow, as Louis van Gaal looks to keep up our 100% win ratio in the league – whilst trying to keep yet another clean sheet. Ahead of the game the fans have been calling for signings all week, and Louis van Gaal has told us to ‘wait and see’.

He also added that there is no pressure on him, and hinted that he is happy with his squad even if United didn’t add to it further.

“You have to wait and see (for more signings). There is no pressure on me, we have 28 players.” Van Gaal said.

The fact that he says ‘we have 28 players’ probably means that he isn’t planning on strengthening further until the club can get rid of some more dead wood.

Personally I feel it would be naive if we went into the season without another striker and a proven centre-half. Without those two we should kiss our title aspirations goodbye as they are arguably the two most crucial positions  when challenging for a Premier League crown. And at this moment in time we have no quality up front and an inexperienced defence.

  1. Inexperienced you say??
    Smalling-26, Blind-25, Darmien-26, Shaw-20
    Rojo-25, Valencia-29,
A mix of Carrick, Schweini, Schneiderlin in front of that group.

Experience,, plenty of it there if you ask me. I’m thinking LVG is feeling pretty good about it as well

  2. Strange how other team`s fans dislike Man United-fans, or can I ask a question? Are you a fan? “No, quality up front” – So, you think Wayne Rooney has no quality?! Behind him you have Chicharito, who can be better than both van Persie and Falcao last year, You have Memphis, and you have a very talented youngster: James Wilson. And behind them plenty of attacking midfielders.

In centre defence you have Blind and Smalling which has been more polite than any of the pair last season. Still everyone probably think Marcos Rojo is first option. Behind them you have Phil Jones who is still young and talented.., and also Jonny Evans and the youngsters Blackett and Mc Nair. Tell me: are you mad?

  3. the sooner this window closes the better….woodward has become arrogant now and unless he can bring in decent level of talent ie Stones (send Evans to everton) and perhaps a striker then we have to make do…it’s about time Perreira and Linegard got an opportunity….Little Pea if played for the last 25 mins often enough will get goals as long as there are providers, Young, Herrera Mata (mata must be played behind rooney not on wing)…..
