Louis van Gaal hints at squad rotation for Norwich game

Louis van Gaal met the media ahead of United’s must-win game against Norwich City this weekend, with the Dutchman in fine form as per usual. He began by defending Marouane Fellaini’s actions once again, and then went on to discuss tactics without the big Belgian.

The Iron Tulip also hinted at squad rotation depending on players tiredness levels, as well as playing an ‘overload of matches’.

“We have to assess the tiredness of the players because there’s an overload of matches, so maybe I have to rotate,” Van Gaal told MUTV.

“Fellaini is suspended so I will have to change my line-up. Every week you have something that you don’t like, but I think we can manage.”

With just four games left, it seems daft to try and rotate the squad now, especially given that most of the lads who are in the team have been performing well.

We also need to win every single game if we’re to have any chance of finishing in a Champions League place, so the pressure is well and truly on.

Norwich away certainly won’t be easy, particularly as they are fighting for their lives to stay in the Premier Leaguer next season. The players themselves won’t forget what happened last time either, as Manchester United suffered an embarrassing 2-1 loss at Old Trafford when these sides met before the turn of the year.
