Louis van Gaal’s first season as Manchester United manager is over, with the Iron Tulip slowly influencing the current squad with his famous philosophy. However even he knows that United must take the next step next season, and compete for the title.
“Expectations will be higher next year. That is the life of a manager and it’s even greater when you are the manager of United.
I know we have to fight for the title. We are a top club so we have to behave like a top club.” Van Gaal added.
“The pressure I put on myself is higher than the pressure I get from the fans. I want to be the champions every year.”
Louis van Gaal’s positivity has certainly had an effect on the United squad this term, and the manager is clearly mapping out his plans for next season already, and finding players that fit his famous philosophy.
If you were to rate this season out of ten, you’d probably give it a solid six or seven. We’ve done exactly what we set out to achieve by returning to the Champions League, but next season is different and the bar will be raised higher.
