Louis van Gaal reiterates desire to stay at Man Utd next season – club will have to sack him

Manchester United’s Premier League season is over, and it was summed up perfectly by the last-minute Bournemouth goal which denied David de Gea of a share of the Golden Glove award. Many fans have been calling for Louis van Gaal’s head, but the Dutchman clearly wants to stay.

“I can only say I have a contract of 3 years and I want to fulfil that. The transition period isn’t over. I’m still the manager.” Louis van Gaal told the post-match interviewer.

At the end of the day, Louis van Gaal is renowned for his stubbornness, and he was never going to walk away from anything. The Iron Tulip firmly believes in his own abilities and he still reckons he is doing a good job here.

We all know that isn’t the case, and this is without doubt the worst United team I have ever watched. His turgid football just isn’t exciting at all, and all of the life seems to have been sucked out of the players.

If the club are to improve and move forward, Louis van Gaal sadly won’t be a part of those plans. He came with so much promise, but he just hasn’t delivered.
