Louis van Gaal spoke to the media of the world today, ahead of Manchester United’s clash with Norwich City tomorrow. During the press conference, the manager risks facing the wrath of the fans by questioning their belief in his abilities as a coach.
“Fans have to prove their belief again. And, when you lose, that is less at that moment. It’s always like that.” The Iron Tulip began. “The board of directors can see what you can do as a manager, but the fans cannot see that. So when you lose, you need fans belief.”
Honestly, I’m not sure questioning the fans belief in himself is the wisest thing to do on Louis van Gaal’s part. Perhaps if the football on display was more attractive then they’d obviously back him more, but at this point in time its dull to watch, and when the results aren’t good, this style of football is obviously highlighted more.
