Louis van Gaal says Man Utd forward ‘did not have his best game’ vs Spurs

Manchester United Football Club have been hit and miss all season long, but they were extremely poor last time around against Tottenham Hotspur. At half-time, Louis van Gaal made the bizarre decision to bring Ashley Young on as a striker in place of Marcus Rashford.

Louis van Gaal was questioned as to why he made the change, and he responded:

“Marcus (Rashford) did not have his best game today.” The manager responded.

At the end of the day, Marcus Rashford has been great since bursting through into the first team mix, and inconsistency is expected at his age. At 18, you feel a bit cruel on the young man who has heaps of pressure on his shoulders, with him leading the line for one of the biggest clubs in the world on his own.

Fair enough, it wasn’t his most effective 45 minutes by any means, but he still got through a heavy workload, as he shown plenty of directness and pace whenever given the chance.
