Louis van Gaal says Man Utd’s exit from Europa League is positive

Manchester United Football Club were dumped out of the Europa League on Thursday night, largely thanks to two horrific performances against our fiercest of rivals in Liverpool. Louis van Gaal now has had time to reflect on that, and taken one positive out of the situation.

“We do not have Thursday matches now and that is a positive thing. They played on Tuesday and it’s important with two days rest.” Louis van Gaal said.

At the end of the day, everyone would have preferred us to stay in the Europa League at Liverpool’s expensive, but we weren’t good enough over the two legs. Its now up to the manager to keep his players motivated, and perhaps more importantly healthy.

Without the strains of the Europa League and playing an extra game every other midweek, it gives Louis van Gaal’s men the chance to concentrate solely on going for a spot in the top four, as well as making a real go at winning the FA Cup.
