Manchester United Football Club witnessed the birth of a star against Liverpool on Saturday, with Louis van Gaal bringing Anthony Martial on midway through the second half. The 19-year old Frenchman certainly announced himself on the world stage by scoring an outstanding solo goal to seal the three points.
According to the Daily Mirror, Louis van Gaal is considering starting Martial in Manchester United’s Champions League opener against PSV Eindhoven tomorrow night.
With Wayne Rooney injured and Marouane Fellaini looking largely ineffective last time out, it’d be the perfect opportunity to throw Anthony Martial up top for 90 minutes to see what he can do.
His pace and attacking intent really hurt Liverpool at the weekend, and if he can replicate that tomorrow night then he is certain to make a good impact on the pitch once again.
At the end of the day he’s still young and he will be inconsistent at times this season. We need to get behind him and give him our full backing, and there is no doubting he’ll come up big for us more often than not.
