Manchester United and Louis van Gaal want to continue a mass overhaul of the current first-team squad with another huge spending spree in the summer. The Dutchman has eyed new signings in five positions, to help bolster United’s chances at a title charge next season.
According to The Express, the Dutchman wants to sign a right-back, centre-back, central midfielder, winger and a striker. These five players are set to cost United around the £150million mark [£30million each on average], but thats only a drop in the ocean for the club who have just secured a £750million kit deal with Adidas.
Their right-back of choose is believed to be Nathaniel Clyne, who has impressed hugely since making the move from Crystal Palace to Southampton, he would be one of the cheaper ones as his contract is nearing an end at St Mary’s.
The centre-back on everyones lips is Mats Hummels, who is thought to be growing increasingly frustrated with life in Dortmund.
Next up is the Dutch duo of Kevin Strootman and Memphis Depay, both of which have worked with the Iron Tulip at international level. They’d cost somewhere in the region of a combined £50million if you believe reports.
Finally is the striker Pablo Dybala who has been tearing it up in the Serie A all season long. United are after a proven striker with pace to burn, and he certainly fits that bill.
