Louis van Gaal unwilling to comment on Wayne Rooney’s poor form

Manchester United’s club captain Wayne Rooney has been finding it tough at the start of the season, with it looking like the striker will not be dropped anytime soon. Louis van Gaal was quizzed about the poor form of Rooney, but refused to comment on the situation.

“I can never answer that. When I answer in positive way, it’s maybe not good. When negative, it’s in headlines,” Van Gaal said.

The gaffer is right about the press. Whatever he says the likelihood of the media turning it into something negative is likely to happen.

However one thing that cannot be covered up is the form of Wayne Rooney. He simply has not been good enough at the start of this season, and although Van Gaal admitted that he has ‘privileges’ as Manchester United captain, the 29-year old striker surely must be running out of lives…
