Manchester United sacked Louis van Gaal officially yesterday night, with the Dutchman failing to produce the goods at Old Trafford this season. The Iron Tulip felt like the right appointment two years ago, but his philosophy just didn’t suit the Manchester United way.
However today, a bit of news came out that may have wanted some United fans to keep hold of Van Gaal for just a little bit longer. Press Association journalist Tom Allnut tweeted that Louis van Gaal was keen on landing Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen for next season.
The Danish international has quietly gone about his business this term, where the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli have taken all the headlines. However the former Ajax man has done some outstanding work at White Hart Lane this season.

Interesting LVG snidbit. Told #thfc‘s Christian Eriksen was very high on Van Gaal’s wishlist if he had stayed at #mufc this summer.

As always, dealing with Daniel Levy was never going to be easy, and Eriksen would definitely cost an arm and a leg if Jose Mourinho sees the 24-year old as a fitting target for his United.
