Lukaku expresses wishes to leave Man United, his agent meets with Inter chiefs: report

The Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan saga rumbles on…

Last night, the usually reliable Fabrizio Romano took to Twitter to provide an update on the 26-year-old’s future…

Apparently, Lukaku’s agent, Federico Pastorello, met with Inter Milan’s sporting director yesterday, with the Serie A side trying to sign the striker this summer. Furthermore, the player has ‘expressed his wishes’ to leave Old Trafford.

Romano also adds that Lukaku is Inter’s ‘dream’, although it will not be easy to prise him away from United – presumably with the Red Devils remaining set on not letting their #9 leave cheaply

There was even a video of Pastorello arriving in Milan to hold talks with Inter chiefs to discuss a potential move – as it appears clear that Lukaku’s agent is trying to ensure is client gets his move to the San Siro during this window.

It’s a tough one. Lukaku’s 42 goals in 96 games speaks for itself, but the fans have never really taken to the Belgian. Whether it’s due to his horrendous first-touch or lack of an all-round game I’m not so sure, but at this point, if Inter come up with a fee that United are comfortable with accepting, then perhaps a move away is in the best interests of all parties…
