Lukaku leaves Manchester immediately after landing, heads to Belgium for talks with agent: report

Manchester United’s pre-season tour went excellently. Four wins from four have set the tone for what could be an exciting season at Old Trafford – although it wasn’t without incident…

One player we’re yet to see take to the field this term is Romelu Lukaku. That’s probably not all that surprising given the fact that his future remains up in the air amid Inter Milan interest.

Today, The Sun have given us another update on the future of United’s #9. They claim that the 26-year-old immediately left Manchester after landing back here following the end of the tour, with Lukaku jetting back to Belgium.

Apparently, over the next few days, he’ll have talks with his agent, Federico Pastorello, to ‘discuss his situation’.

I think us fans knew something was up as soon as Lukaku continued to be ruled out of tour games. The Sun state that he was left out as a precaution so he doesn’t get injured and prevent a move away. However, Paul Pogba played and his future at United is by no means guaranteed.

That leads me to believe that there’s a serious possibility Lukaku does move elsewhere before the August 8th deadline. If he doesn’t move, though, he’ll be way behind on fitness which is a big concern, particularly as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to implement this high-pressing system.
