Luke Shaw believes Jadon Sancho is going to be ‘world-class’

Luke Shaw has heaped the praise on teammate Jadon Sancho.

Manchester United Football Club have struggled over the last week. Results haven’t been anywhere near good enough despite an up-turn in overall performances.

Over that time, I’d argue there has been one shining light in the form of Jadon Sancho.

After a slow start to life with the Red Devils, the Englishman is now starting to show his class. After all, there’s a reason why United were prepared to spend so big to bring Sancho in.

Sancho has been our biggest threat this week, while his on-ball skill and quality is now starting to be on full display. The body-feints, the skills, the intelligent decision-making. I’ve been massively impressed with the former Borussia Dortmund man.

Now, the United starlet has been tipped for stardom by his United and England teammate, Luke Shaw.

Check out what Shaw had to say in full here:

“For me, the maddest thing with Jadon is how young he actually is,” Luke told United Review per ManUtd.com. “I didn’t realise, even when I played with him for England, that he was that young.

“He’s a wonderful footballer. When you come here it’s not easy at the start – I know that personally.

“Now he’s starting to find his feet a bit more and that’s really showing in the way he’s playing, especially in the last few games.

“He’s starting to excel, he’s getting on the ball more and dribbling well, and doing what he was doing at Dortmund. He’s only going to get better and better. At the moment I’m enjoying playing with him and I’m really happy for him because he had a tough time at the start.

“He’s going to be a world-class player and he’s got so much talent. He just needs to keep working hard, keep working on the abilities he has and be a real asset for this club.”

As Shaw states, it’s very easy to forget that Sancho is still only 21 years of age. It does feel like he’s been on the football scene for years already.

Down that left-hand side, Shaw and Sancho are starting to work very well together. They know where one another is going to be at all times, while Shaw’s forward runs is definitely helping create more space for United’s number eleven.

We’ve seen a massive improvement in Sancho already as he starts to find his feet here in Manchester. I also think it’s a pretty safe bet to suggest that the young man is only going to improve between now and the end of the season.

There’s no doubt that the arrival of a coach who loves working with young players has definitely helped. As has the removal of Anthony Martial from the equation, as that has allowed Sancho to start week-in-week-out.

I’ve been seriously enjoying watching Sancho play over the last week or so – and he’s the man I’m most looking forward to seeing in action later this evening.

Is Luke Shaw right? Will Jadon Sancho become one of the best on the planet? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
