Luke Shaw brutally trolls Romelu Lukaku as Inter fall into Europa League with Man United

For Manchester United, they’ve always known that playing in the Europa League was the reality of their situation.

However, when Romelu Lukaku swapped Old Trafford for the San Siro, he assumed he’d be playing in the Champions League come the turn of the year. After all, Antonio Conte spent big-money to do just that.

Well last night, Inter were dumped into the Europa League, as they lost to FC Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund won their match – leaving Lukaku’s side in third place in their Champions League group.

Immediately after full-time, Luke Shaw hilariously trolled his pal and his old teammate Lukaku in brutal fashion…

All is fair and love and war, eh? Obviously Lukaku and Shaw would have built a close friendship during their two years together in Manchester – and this harmless joke is just a bit of banter. Nothing more.

It does have some truths behind it, though. Lukaku’s reasoning behind leaving United would have factored in Champions League football. Now, he’s in the same boat as the Red Devils.

How interesting would it be if United met Inter in the competition at some stage? Personally, I feel the gap between the two sides is mightily slim and this United defence has been pretty good this term. I’d definitely fancy our chances at beating Inter and Lukaku…
