Luke Shaw could be involved vs Liverpool this weekend, after suffering an injury against Bayern Munich in midweek.

Manchester United’s Tuesday matchup against Bayern Munich did not go according to plan. We lost 1-0 at the hands of Thomas Tuchel’s team, while both Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw picked up injuries.

At the time, it looked like Maguire’s issue was the more serious one, though we were unsure as to how the left-back was feeling as he came off at half-time after trying to continue with what was seemingly a hamstring issue.

Well, we have good news. It comes from Insider United on X, who are usually spot on when it comes to the Red Devils. Initially, they placed a one-to-two-week time frame on Shaw’s return to action. That has since improved.

It’s now stated that the United star ‘could play’ against Liverpool this weekend, despite suffering that injury in midweek. According to the information, Shaw felt no discomfort when assessed yesterday, which is obviously great news.

Obviously, this is positive. Even if Shaw cannot go against Liverpool, it means the injury isn’t a long term one and he should be back out on the field sooner rather than later.

In an ideal world, Shaw is pretty close to 100% fitness come kick-off on Sunday as having him in the team definitely increases our chances at securing a positive result. I’d much prefer to see him out there instead of Sergio Reguilon or Diogo Dalot, who I do not really trust on the defensive side of things.

Either way, it’s going to be a tough afternoon at a ground where we’ve historically struggled. It would be pretty special if we can pull off the win, though.
