Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw has struggled since his move to Old Trafford, but the young Englishman is clearly not giving up.
In an exclusive, the Manchester Evening News says that Shaw is working harder than ever to try and establish himself as a Red Devils regular.
Furthermore, last month, he’s already been back at a training facility in his hometown; six weeks before United jet off for pre-season.
This fantastic attitude will certainly serve him well going forward, and we all know just how much Jose Mourinho believes he fully has to trust the players he starts in matches.
However, this upcoming season presents him with a big opportunity. The MEN add that Mourinho is content with his left-back options, so no new face is likely coming in. When you add to that the fact that Ashley Young is ageing, in a year where he’ll be playing in the World Cup no less, Shaw could have found his opening.
The next twelve months are huge for him. If he plays regularly, he could go on to make that position within the team his own, but if he largely remains on the periphery, his United career could be all-but over this time next year.
