Man United’s Luke Shaw is full of kind words for his young teammate, Mason Greenwood.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can be pleased with Manchester United’s overall start to the campaign.

The Old Trafford club have won two and drawn one, scoring seven goals in the process. Three of our strikes have come from one man; Mason Greenwood. The youngster has scored in each fixture this term so far, looking like a much-improved player.

No doubt having the summer off has allowed Greenwood to focus solely on honing his talent and right now, we’re reaping the rewards.

Us fans aren’t the only ones to recognise that too. Luke Shaw was full of praise for his United teammate, whom he labelled ‘scary’ talented, before adding he’ll be ‘one of the most talked about’ players in the world in a few years.

Check out what Shaw had to say here:

“The talent he’s got is so scary, it’s unbelievable,” Shaw told UMM, per the MEN Live Blog.

“He will be one of the most talked about players in the world in two or three years.”

First and foremost, talent alone won’t get you there. You look at Ravel Morrison as the prime example of that. Greenwood has to remain grounded and focused – and Solskjaer is doing everything he can to ensure that happens.

From not allowing Greenwood to speak to the media in the early days, to ensuring he isn’t going away with the England national team. The Baby Faced Assassin is so far managing this situation perfectly.

For Greenwood, it’s about ensuring he keeps doing what he’s doing. Right now, he’s amongst the best young players in the world and watching him grow and mature has been an absolute joy.

What’s scary to us is that he’s still a teenager. The footballing world is literally at his feet and Greenwood can be anything he wants to be.

I bet it’s only a positive for Greenwood that he’s hearing just how talented he is from his teammates, too. Hopefully, he takes the compliments on board and continues to put in the graft.
