Man United can breathe a sigh of relief, with the injury suffered by Luke Shaw not thought to be serious.

Manchester United Football Club managed to return to winning ways in the Premier League on Wednesday, overcoming a resilient Brentford side winning 1-0 at home.

The game itself was largely one-way traffic, with the Red Devils looking in complete control for large stretches. Obviously, scoring a second would have made us all relax a little easier.

In the end, the lads held on for a massive victory, though it wasn’t without causality. Midway through the first 45 minutes, Shaw suffered an apparent hamstring injury.

The English left-back had been in sensational form of late, proving himself as one of United’s better players, while securing a new four-year contract as a result.

Thankfully, we’ve been given a positive update on Shaw’s fitness. It comes from The Times, who state that the injury to the key United star has been deemed ‘not serious’, with Shaw taken off as a precaution.

At this stage, it is unclear whether Shaw will be available to take on Everton this Saturday, though the fact it’s the early kick-off does make it a little close for comfort for United to get him fit.

If I had to guess, this feels like an opportunity for Tyrell Malacia to get some minutes under the belt. He came on and did an excellent job in midweek, so let’s keep his confidence flowing by handing him a start.

I’ve been largely impressed with the Dutchman, who did start the season as the first-choice player in that area of the field. It’s easy to forget just how talented he is when you have a player like Shaw taking the lion’s share of the starts.
