Luke Shaw has been back in training ahead of Euro 2024, which is great news for both Man United and England.
Manchester United Football Club endured an injury-ridden 2023/24 season. It may contribute to Erik ten Hag losing his job this summer, though we’ll have to wait and see on that front.
At the back end of the campaign, some players did return. Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane and Marcus Rashford all played their part.
Another footballer who we’ve barely seen this term is Luke Shaw, however, the Englishman was selected for Three Lions duty, which meant he was always in line for a return somewhat sooner rather than later.
Well, that injury boost has now been confirmed. The key United star was back in England training yesterday, ahead of Euro 2024’s start in just a fortnight or so.

It’s great to see Shaw in good spirits as he looks to help England go one further than their last European Championship campaign. It’s also positive for England, as it means barring any further injury issues, the left-back will have a full pre-season with his club this summer.
He has come in for some stick due to the timing of his return, which I feel is unfair. If Shaw was able to get back fit for United, he would have done. Sadly, the timeframe just didn’t sync up with the FA Cup final, which was just unfortunate.
We all know that Shaw will probably always pick up injuries. It’s why United need a reliable back-up option at left-back for as long as he’s at the club. Sadly, that horrific injury he suffered against PSV Eindhoven will always hinder the potential that Shaw had and it’s the sort of issue you never really fully heal from.
For now, we have to appreciate that Shaw is still one of the best left-backs in the game when fit. Hopefully, he can show that at club level next term.
