Luke Shaw unwell, could miss Everton game tomorrow: report

Luke Shaw is feeling unwell and could miss Man United vs Everton tomorrow.

Manchester United had to cope without Luke Shaw in midweek, as they squeezed past Villareal in the Champions League.

The Englishman had to be subbed off last weekend with an apparent injury issue, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer not really disclosing what the problem was.

Well, now we know more. Journalist Samuel Luckhurst has claimed that the left-back wasn’t feeling too good, rather than Shaw having an actual muscular injury.

United have been dealt a potential injury blow ahead of this weekend, with the star still feeling unwell. According to Luckhurst, he could miss the Everton game tomorrow – giving Solskjaer another selection headache.

Check out Samuel Luckhurst’s tweet on the Shaw illness news here:

With Harry Maguire sidelined too, our defence is looking somewhat make-shift. The good news is that Aaron Wan-Bissaka can return here following European suspension in midweek.

Telles looked like a decent back-up option in midweek, though don’t forget he’s barely played any football and two games in quick succession is a less than ideal situation for the former FC Porto star.

The other option is Diogo Dalot, who looked underwhelming to say the least against Villareal. If Shaw isn’t feeling up to it then I would probably roll the dice and give Telles the start. The Brazilian is chomping at the bit to prove his worth and this could be an excellent opportunity for him.

In regards to Luke, at least it’s not a long-term problem. Illness and sickness is a part of every day life and I’d much prefer him to have that than a footballing injury that could’ve been far more severe. There’s also more positive news; Shaw has been included in Gareth Southgate’s latest England squad – indicating that he should be back available soon.

Get well soon, Luke!
