Lyon striker Moussa Dembele wants Old Trafford move: Sky

Manchester United Football Club made some astute signings in the January transfer window given the situation, though for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, that has to be just the start.

Odion Ighalo may work in the short-term, however, it’s by no means the answer to a long-term problem. That’s why over the summer, Manchester United will sign a striker, according to Sky Sports News’ Kaveh Solhekol in his latest column.

Well, if it’s Lyon forward Moussa Dembele they want, then United have just recieved a huge boost, as the talented 23-year-old striker wants an Old Trafford switch. Furthermore, he will be allowed to leave this summer.

The Frenchman wants to move back to British shores, after playing for both Fulham and Celtic before heading to Ligue 1. Unfortunately for Dembele, injuries to key players meant he wasn’t allowed to leave Lyon in January, though that’s all about to change in the summer.

Dembele has scored goals wherever he has been, including nineteen for Lyon across all competitions this season. With Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford the only strikers on the books (all of whom are arguably better out wide), there’s definitely an opening for another out-and-out forward.

I’ve been super-impressed with Dembele whenever I’ve watched him. It’s a signing that would excite and further indicate Solskajer’s plans to build for the future – and I don’t doubt that he’d score goals in the Premier League on a regular basis.
