Manchester United attacker Anthony Martial is set for showdown talks with the club surrounding his future. The 22-year-old wants to leave Old Trafford this summer.
Furthermore, The Sun, per The Mirror, are claiming that the Frenchman plans to defy United, by making a huge decision to stay in the Premier League.
Originally, the Red Devils wanted to keep the former AS Monaco man, then the plan was to sell him abroad if they were to lose the attacker, which is obviously understandable. Now though, it looks as though Martial is trying to force the issue and remain in England; a country where he is happy.
With one year, with the option for a further twelve months on his current contract, United have time on their side. They are under no pressure to sell Martial this transfer window, and the fact that they can buy themselves some time is key.
However, Jose Mourinho won’t be best-pleased having an unhappy player in and around the dressing room. Don’t be surprised to see the self-proclaimed Special One drop him from the match-day squads completely, because that’s just the way he is. That would be somewhat annoying though, as all that’ll happen is Martial’s value will decrease; rapidly.
