Manchester United Football Club will be sweating regarding the fitness of Romelu Lukaku. According to ESPN, he’s skipped Belgium training on Monday due to concerns about an ankle injury.
Apparently, the 24-year-old checked into international duty like normal, but instead of participating in training with his teammates, he was being looked over by doctors.
The report also says that Lukaku was a doubt to take on Crystal Palace at the weekend, but he managed to overcome the issue and score in United’s Premier League fixture.
Thankfully, Belgium officials remain confident that the former Everton man will be fit enough to play in their World Cup Qualifier against Bosnia on Saturday, but honestly, I’m hoping that they don’t risk starting him if he isn’t 100% fit and ready to go.
Manchester United paid a hell of a lot of money to acquire his services over the summer, and imagine the mood that Jose Mourinho would be in if the big-money signing further aggravated that injury. This fortnight should be used to fix that issue rather than make it worse. It’s certainly going to be an anxious fortnight for us Red Devils fans. Hopefully, the big fella’ will be alright.
