Man United able to secure Andre Silva signing for £26m this summer: report

Man United would be able to acquire Andre Silva for a relatively cheap price this summer.

Old Trafford has played host to some genuinely brilliant strikers down the years. From Ruud van Nistelrooy to Wayne Rooney, from Zlatan Ibrahimovic to our own Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

It’s an area that may well need to be addressed this summer, particularly with Edinson Cavani’s future still being up in the air. One name the Red Devils have been linked with somewhat recently is Eintracht Frankfurt’s Andre Silva.

Now, according to Sport 1, translated via Sport Witness, United are once again looking at a potential move for Silva.

Apparently, United are able to secure the signature of the 25-goal star for just £26m (€30m) this summer, which is a lower fee than previously thought.

For someone who is second only to Robert Lewandowski in the goal-scoring charts, that seems massively cheap. Why are Eintracht ready to let him go for that price? Well, the player has an agreement in place with the club, in order to allow Silva to go if said offer comes in.

His form, coupled with the low asking price has led to many clubs being interested in Silva, which does make an awful lot of sense given were still in the middle of a pandemic.

Where would Silva fit in at Old Trafford?

It goes without saying, if the signing is made, the Portugal striker would likely be the Red Devils’ first-choice striker as soon as he walks through the entrance door.

No doubt the fact that we’re looking good for Champions League qualification helps our chances at acquiring Silva, though they’ll be several other interested parties, particularly given how well the 25-year-old has been playing this term.

Honestly, I like this idea. It offers room for more money to be invested in other areas of the squad, while fixing a pretty big need at an excellent price.
