Man United have added young midfielder, Sverre Nypan, to their transfer wishlist.
Manchester United are always looking to hoover up the hottest footballing prospects from every corner of the globe. It’s a large reason why the Red Devils have been so successful over the years.
Erik ten Hag has tried to continue that mantra, with Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo flourishing at the moment. With a tight transfer budget, the Reds could look to further invest in youth over the coming transfer windows.
Journalist Christopher Michel has thrown a new name into the ring over the last 24 hours or so; Sverre Nypan.
It’s probably not a name you’ve heard of, with Nypan, aged 17, plying his trade for Norwegian side Rosenborg.
According to Michel, United have added the talented 17-year-old to their transfer wishlist for the January 2025 window.
Nypan is viewed as someone who plays in the Martin Odegaard style, with United viewing the young man as an ‘investment for the future’.

News #MUFC: Manchester United have Sverre #Nypan on their list – for January 2025. 17 years old, great Norwegian talent, Martin Ödegaard type. Would be an investment for the future. https://t.co/ZhBEtV1v3Y

Nypan, while still so young, is obviously an incredibly talented young man. He’s enjoyed a breakthrough twelve months, showcasing his talent for both Rosenborg and Norwegian youth sides.
As is always the case when you’re targeting players in this age range, you just never know how it’s going to play out. Nypan looks like an impressive player, though the adjustment to the Premier League is a harsh one.
Perhaps moving to England, playing with a better level of footballer around him, would only quicken up his development.
