Man United have added Tanguy Ndombele to their list of summer transfer targets.

I think it’s now widely accepted that Manchester United’s biggest need heading into the 2022 transfer market is midfield. Names like Declan Rice continue to be linked with a Red Devils switch.

It goes without saying, big money will have to be spent to plug the hole within our squad, particularly if you’re looking to buy from a Premier League club.

Well, another name who plies his trade on English shores has now been linked with a transfer to the Theatre of Dreams; Tanguy Ndombele.

The midfielder has found it tough since moving to White Hart Lane, failing to nail down a place in the team.

Now, according to Calciomercato, translated by The Boot Room, it’s being claimed that United have added the struggling 24-year-old to their list of midfield targets for next summer.

Ndombele made the move to England from Lyon, for a hefty price-tag with big expectations. It just hasn’t worked out that way, though I guess Jose Mourinho has had that effect on many players. Perhaps what the Frenchman needs is a change of scenery.

At Old Trafford, Ndombele would be joining a supremely happy dressing room, giving the Frenchman a new lease of life. On top of that, he wouldn’t be expected to start week-in-week-out – taking some of the pressure off him.

The problem for me is negotiating with Tottenham Hotspur. Daniel Levy will continue to play hardball when it comes to selling players, and there’s always a danger of overpaying in that scenario.

The article also states Franck Kessie is now on that list…

Would a Man United move for Tanguy Ndombele make sense? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
