Man United agree Christian Eriksen deal in principle

Man United are closing in on the signing of Christian Eriksen, though the Dane may not be part of the tour squad that heads to Thailand.

With a deal for Tyrell Malacia over the line, Manchester United Football Club are looking to press on with other targets.

A move for Christian Eriksen looks super close, with the Dane set to make the move to Old Trafford on a free transfer.

That bit of experience and Premier League knowledge could be vital for Erik ten Hag, who is looking to get off to a good start during his first venture in the Premier League.

Before then, though, comes pre-season. Sadly for United fans, the imminent signing Eriksen will not be a part of the Reds tour that leaves for Thailand this Friday. Rather, it looks more likely he’ll go to Melbourne, ahead of United’s game there in nine days’ time. That’s according to journalist Simon Stone.

According to Stone, United have agreed a deal ‘in principle’ to sign Eriksen, though his medical is yet to be arranged which could be the reason behind a delay.

I really do like this pickup. Eriksen is a risk-free addition due to the lack of a transfer fee, while that veteran presence could really help accelerate the development of this young United squad.

Eriksen is a player who can dip in and out of the line-up in a variety of different positions and roles, while he’s also a likeable character who adds a lot to this dressing room.

Ten Hag also knows the Dane well, with the pair working together at Ajax back in January when Eriksen was working his way back up to fitness following his cardiac arrest/
