Man United agree personal terms with Marko Arnautovic

Man United have come to an agreement with Marko Arnautovic on personal terms

Benjamin Sesko is now no longer a transfer option for Manchester United. He has now agreed a deal that’ll see him head to RB Leipzig next summer.

Attentions turned to Marko Arnautovic. Yep, you did read that correctly…

The Austrian, who currently plies his trade for Bologna, is seemingly viewed as an alternative to Sesko by Erik ten hag and the Manchester United board…

33-Year-old Arnautovic actually had a decent season for Bologna in 2021/22. No disrespect to the Austrian, United should absolutely be aiming higher.

Regardless of our views on Arnautovic, it does look as if the Red Devils are inching closer towards the signing.

The latest report from Tancredi Palmeri today suggests that personal terms have been agreed with the player, though talks with the club remain ongoing. It does look as though United are pushing hard to sign the attacker during this window.

I get that Arnautovic is versatile, being able to play up front or on the flanks. He also has Premier League experience under his belt, having played for both Stoke City and West Ham United.

All said that, United should absolutely set the bar higher. Arnautovic is nothing but a squad player that the club are going to struggle to move on from in a year or two.

Arnautovic has also made the headlines for the wrong reasons over the last few years from a racial point of view. Is this a player that one of the biggest clubs in the world should be giving a platform to? Probably not.

Overall, it’d just be disappointing for the club. And again, it looks like Erik ten Hag is having to settle for his third and fourth choice targets.
