Man United are amongst the teams keeping an eye on Brentford’s David Raya.

David de Gea has certainly regained his position as the undisputed number one at Manchester United this season, proving his worth to Erik ten Hag.

No doubt contract talks are taking place behind the scenes, though United need some competition for the superstar Spaniard.

With Dean Henderson’s position in the squad still up in the air following his scathing comments on United last season, the club could look to bring someone else in.

David Raya is a name that has been linked with a potential Theatre of Dreams switch in the past. It’s a move that certainly makes sense given his stylistic fit and sheer ability.

The Brentford man is being linked with United yet again. This time, it’s TalkSPORT’s Alex Crook with the information. He says United are amongst the sides ‘monitoring’ the 27-year-old, who could be available on a cut-price deal due to his contract situation.

United could also face competition from Tottenham Hotspur for Raya, who are looking to bring in someone who can challenge Hugo Lloris.

Raya, on a cheaper deal, feels like an excellent piece of business. I firmly believe that he is absolutely the best guy out there to replace De Gea.

The Brentford man has shown his qualities during his short time in the Premier League and with a better defence in front of him, you’d imagine he’ll only get even better.

If United can generate a decent amount via the sale of the aforementioned Henderson, then the Reds could easily use that money to offset the cost to bring in a top-tier keeper like David Raya.
