Manchester United Football Club are having serious goal-scoring troubles at the moment. At this point, Marcus Rashford is the only fit striker and he simply cannot do it all on his own.
When the January transfer window rolls around, the Old Trafford club could be tempted into making their move for reinforcements. Well today, a new name has been thrown into the ring – though I already have serious doubts about the likelihood of this one…
The story comes from Spanish media outlet Marca, who are writing about Kylian Mbappe’s proposed move to Real Madrid. They state that Los Blancos president, Florentino Perez, is ‘obsessed’ with Mbappe.
However, United are amongst a long list of clubs who could ‘tempt’ the 20-year-old into making a transfer switch elsewhere.
Barcelona, Manchester City and Juventus are also keen on the superstar Frenchman who has been lighting it up for Paris Saint-Germain over the last eighteen months.
Although talk of a deal isn’t expected to ramp up until next summer, Madrid feel that Mbappe’s contract situation could play into their hands, as at that stage, the youngster would only have two years left on his deal – meaning PSG’s hand could be forced.
Do I think Mbappe could be on the move? Certainly. Will he even consider moving to United at this juncture? Certainly not. I’d like to think the Old Trafford hierarchy would have more common sense than to consider trying to get themselves in amongst it with this one…
