Man United announce Daniel James signing on five-year deal

Well, folks, here it is… Our first signing of the summer has been sealed, with Manchester United confirming that they’ve acquired Daniel James from Swansea City.

The Wales international has put pen to paper subject to international clearance with James signing a five-year deal with the option for a further year.

James, aged just 21, is a versatile winger who can play on either flank or even through the middle if needs be. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer now has an extra option in several key positions as the Baby Faced Assassin looks to bolster his squad.

In terms of playing style James’ biggest attribute is his sheer pace. The winger is amongst the quickest players I’ve ever seen on a football field so let’s hope he can use that to great effect during a long and fruitful Old Trafford career.

I just hope that James gets the time to develop and hone his talents before he’s thrown into the deep-end when big things are expected of him. Personally, I’d like to see him used as an impact substitute this upcoming campaign, before developing his skills and eventually turning into a top-class wide man for years to come.

Anyway, welcome to Old Trafford, Dan! We can’t wait to see you in action.
