Man United announce new Rashford contract today: report

Manchester United Football Club are working hard behind the scenes as the transfer window is now in full swing.

Both Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka have been signed. More must follow if the Red Devils are to compete at the business end of top competitions.

Alongside that, though, United need to keep their current stars at the club. Amongst those with winding down contracts is Marcus Rashford, although according to the usually reliable Telegraph, the 20-time Premier League champions claim that the 21-year-old has put pen to paper on a new deal at Old Trafford.

Furthermore, United may announce the new contract for Rashford as early as today (Monday). The star striker has signed a four-year deal with the option for a fifth year, with the deal heavily incentivised, potentially netting the Mancunian in excess of £300,000-a-week if all performance-related targets are met.

Although no basic weekly wage is mentioned in the story, we did cover an article from ESPN earlier, which claimed that Rashford would take home around £200,000-a-week – so that could potentially mean there is more than £100,000-a-week more up for grabs should United (and Rashford) perform on the field.

United intend to announce the new deal before they jet off for pre-season tour on July 7th. The squad returns for the first day of training today, and is is ‘understood there is a possibility’ that the Reds could break the news today – which would be a brilliant way to kick off the tour.
