Man United could be edging closer to their fourth signing of the summer, in the form of Matheus Cunha.

All has gone stagnant on the incoming transfer front at Manchester United, with the Old Trafford club really struggling to acquire the players that Erik ten Hag wants.

The Red Devils have been linked with every name under the sun, though right now, you get the impression we’re now looking at Ten Hag’s fourth and fifth choice options in pretty much every position.

You’ve seen it all on full display. United need new players in so many areas. The latest link feels like a pretty solid one, and it comes from talkSPORT.

They go pretty big, claiming that United are ‘closing in’ on the signature of the 23-year-old attacker, Matheus Cunha.

Cunha, a Brazil international, currently plies his trade for Atletico Madrid. He only joined the La Liga outfit just last summer, with the belief that the attacker will cost around £42million if the 20-time Premier League champions make their move.

United had previously been linked with Cunha’s Atletico Madrid teammate, Alvaro Morata. Though now, attentions have turned to the skilful winger instead.

It seems pretty clear that Ten Hag wants to bring in at least one versatile forward, who can play all across the front line and impact the game in a number of different ways. Let’s face it, the likes of Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford aren’t pulling up any trees right now and they desperately need help.

Cunha, although a little raw around the edges, will excite and dazzle on a weekly basis. He’s someone who’ll people will look forward to watching and I firmly believe we Red Devils fans need a little bit of flash and excitement in our life during this time of struggle.

Would Matheus Cunha be a good signing for Man United? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
