Man United ‘are planning’ on keeping Amad at the club beyond January transfer window

Man United seemingly have no intention of allowing Amad to depart the club this January.

Manchester United’s first half of the season has been unfortunate. Injuries have played their part, while discussions about a potential Glazer sale definitely hung overhead.

Now that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is in place, taking charge of football operations, the dust is starting to settle. Players are also returning from the treatment room.

Among them is Amad. We’ve seen the youngster play one sub appearance since making his return. He looked bright. Claims about a potential loan move away for the winger have been pretty frequent – though Erik ten Hag has other plans for the young man.

It’s the Manchester Evening News with the information. They claim that United ‘are planning’ to keep the talented winger at the club beyond the January transfer window.

The club expect Facundo Pellistri to depart and head to Granada on loan, though the Ivory Coast international Amad will remain in Manchester.

The 21-year-old started this season on the treatment table, though he made his first Reds appearance in more than two years against Nottingham Forest on December 30th.

With Antony struggling, Pellistri no longer at the club, while Jadon Sancho is also away on loan, there’s a real opening for Amad should he want it badly enough.

After a successful loan move to Sunderland during the 2022/23 campaign, Amad looks like he has a real chance at making it at the highest level. Given the huge transfer cost, that’s the very least you’d expect.

It’s now down to the player to prove that he absolutely has what it takes. He’ll never get a better opportunity to prove his worth at Manchester United Football Club.
