Man United are preparing a ‘shock’ January move for Christian Eriksen: report

Although Manchester United didn’t sign many players over the summer, it’s fair to say that every single one of them has made a positive impact at Old Trafford.

Going forward, that should give the Red Devils board every reason to provide Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with more money next summer – or maybe even in January…

In an exclusive from The Sun, it is now being claimed United could use the winter window to make their move for one of the league’s best players.

They state that the Reds are preparing a ‘shock’ January move for the 27-year-old playmaker, Christian Eriksen.

The report states that United aren’t deterred by the failure to sign Eriksen in the summer, and with the Dane’s contract winding down, this will likely be the Reds’ final chance at acquiring the midfield maestro.

Spurs won’t want to lose Eriksen for nothing next summer so they may well cash in and take a cut-price transfer fee when January rolls around. United will have to act quickly though as I’d highly doubt they’ll be the only team interested in signing such a quality player.

In the summer, United were willing to pay around £70m to sign Eriksen, and no doubt they could expect to pay considerably less in January – but in my opinion, the problem will be tempting the player into making the switch to Manchester as that doesn’t seem to be high atop his list of possible destinations.
