Manchester United’s transfer plans have apparently been changed on the back of some excellent performances from Anthony Martial, according to The Independent.
Last term, Martial endured a mixed year, drifting in and out of the team as he struggled to adapt to Jose Mourinho’s system and tactics.
However, the French sensation has been nothing short of outstanding as we approach the halfway point in the 2017/18 campaign, and now Mourinho believes things have finally ‘clicked’ for the former AS Monaco man.
The report says that United were after Ivan Perisic in the summer, but as we all know, that move failed. Now the club are reconsidering their interest in a player who plies his trade in that area of the field because they believe Martial is up to the task.
To me, this would be the ideal scenario. Martial is playing some wonderful stuff right now, and that goal he scored against Watford on Tuesday was absolutely sensational. He’s firmly cemented his place within the squad at this point, so why not use the talents of a player that we already have?
In my opinion, Martial has the potential and skillset to go right to the top of this game, and the scary thing is, he’s only going to get better.
