Man United appear to be close to agreeing a deal that will see Aaron Wan-Bissaka head to West Ham United.
Manchester United Football Club are now in a situation where they have to sell players before they can buy. The Old Trafford side, now under the reigns of INEOS, are already starting to operate far more wisely.
After two big-money signings have been made, it’s now about freeing up some space in the dressing room first. One man whose future has been up for debate ever since Erik ten Hag’s arrival at the club is Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The stylistic fit doesn’t necessarily work as well as we’d all like despite Wan-Bissaka’s defensive excellence.
Now, Sky Sports News’ Dharmesh Sheth has provided an update on the future of Wan-Bissaka. He states that United and West Ham are now ‘close’ to agreeing a deal for the Englishman.
Apparently, many aspects of the transfer have now been agreed in principle, though there is still work to do on the final fee and structure. There is also a confidence a compromise can be reached on the gap in valuation.

Wan-Bissaka’s case is an intriguing one. He’s probably the best one-on-one defender in the league, though his attacking output is always very minimal. Ten Hag has been edging towards replacing the Englishman ever since he arrived. It now looks like he’s about to get his wish.
The Old Trafford side could look to instantly use the funds raised by this imminent sale to bring in Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich. He, like many of United’s recent signings, knows Ten Hag well.
Hopefully, this deal is agreed in the not too distant future, although I’d be sad to see Wan-Bissaka depart. It does seem like this is what the manager wants.
