Man United close to reaching agreement with PSG for Manuel Ugarte signing

Man United appear to be closing in on a deal to sign Manuel Ugarte from PSG.

Manchester United have signed their new centre-back. They’ve also brought in extra attacking reinforcement, too. Next up on the agenda is a move to bring in a new midfielder.

Casemiro looked older last term. Christian Eriksen’s future is far from secure. Scott McTominay’s, too.

The name most linked with coming in is Manuel Ugarte, as PSG look to move on from the Uruguay international.

The latest update in the saga is a positive one and it comes from Santi Aouna. Yesterday, he took to X to confirm that the ‘agreement’ between the two clubs is ‘close’.

The player himself has already given his okay to United, while the Reds were always his ‘number 1’ choice this summer despite interest from elsewhere.

This feels like a good move for all involved. PSG are looking to raise funds (and a space in the squad) so they can sign Joao Neves, while United really need some extra help in that defensive midfield position.

United may have to sell some players first before this signing becomes official, though with Willy Kambwala and Mason Greenwood no longer at the club, the Reds could already be well on their way to having the budget to sign Ugarte officially.
