Manchester United Football Club has always been a hot-bed for young, up-and-coming talent. The Red Devils look to sign young players, then nurture their talents. Why should they change that mantra as it works so well?
The latest player they’re looking at acquiring is West Bromwich Albion’s 16-year-old sensation, Jovan Malcolm.
According to the Daily Mail, United are closely monitoring the young forward, though the Old Trafford club face serious competition from the Premier League’s elite.
Apparently, Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal are all also interested, in the young man who has scored seven U18s goals in just five matches – including bagging four against Liverpool just last weekend.
As expected, West Brom now face tough competition to keep ahold of their prized asset, and they’re hoping that their resurgence in the Championship can tempt Malcolm into staying.
Again, as is always the case with youngsters, you never fully know how the said player will develop and grow. However, it’s more than worth the punt. United have a great coaching setup and a real knack for throwing teenagers in at the deep end. Plus, it wouldn’t be overly expensive so why not take the risk?
Plus, Malcolm is English so he’d also count towards the homegrown quota, which is always a massive plus.
