Man United confident Amad Diallo deal will go through next month: report

Manchester United are confident that their deal to sign Amad Diallo will finally go through in January.

Cast your mind back to transfer deadline day. Facundo Pellistri was acquired from Penarol, while Edinson Cavani and Alex Telles also sealed their moves to Old Trafford.

A fourth player was close to signing, too. Amad Diallo. However, the move wouldn’t go through in time, meaning he’d have to stay at Atalanta until at least January.

Since then, us Red Devils supporters have been keeping a watchful eye on Amad Diallo’s development and it’s fair to say he looks impressive.

This morning we’ve been given an update on his future from Simon Stone and it’s positive news. United are ‘confident’ that a deal will go through next month, though it’s still subject to post-Brexit regulations. Furthermore, his last involvement is ‘likely’ to be Atlanta’s game against Bologna tomorrow.

Check out what Simon Stone had to say here:

For the last few years, United have lacked any real strength in depth over on that right flank. Amad Diallo may be young but he has bags of potential. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him only spend a few weeks at youth level before being given the opportunity to train with the senior team.

Without wanting to put too much pressure on his shoulders, Diallo’s talent levels are up there with the likes of Mason Greenwood, Hannibal Mejbri and Facundo Pellistri. If you’re good enough, you’re old enough.

I guess we have to be patient in the event that he’s not ready to play straight away, though. After all, this is a young man moving into completely unfamiliar surroundings. If Diallo needs time to adjust and adapt, it’s up to us to give him that.

At the very least, we can enjoy his talents at U23s football for the remainder of the season, before hopefully seeing him on pre-season tour next summer.
