Man United confident new Alejandro Garnacho contract will be done ‘soon’

Man United are confident Alejandro Garnacho will sign a new contract ‘soon’.

Manchester United Football Club feel like they’re returning to their best version of themselves. Erik ten Hag has certainly brought the good times back to Old Trafford.

The Dutchman has the squad playing like they’re capable of, while slowly adjusting and adapting the playing personnel. One man who has broken into the squad in recent times is Alejandro Garnacho.

Aged just eighteen, Garnacho is playing like a man possessed. That youthful exuberance is on full display every single time he takes to the field – just ask Manchester City.

Ten Hag was full of praise for Garnacho in his most recent meeting with the media, while United, understandably, are keen to tie the young man down to a fresh contract on bigger wages.

Well, the latest information from The Telegraph’s James Ducker is a hugely positive one. He says that United are in ‘advanced talks’ with the player over a new contract, while there is now ‘confidence’ the deal will be done ‘soon’.

United are keen to find the right balance of rewarding Garnacho for his performances, while not overpaying a young man who could let the money go to his head.

Although Garnacho still has a few years left on his current terms, the money, around £5,000-a-week, is minimal for the level he’s playing at.

United are keen to reward Garnacho, rightly so, but they have to strike that right note. Overpay and it becomes a problem, underpay and the player will not sign the deal.

As of right now, I’d imagine a deal will get completed within the next few months. At the very least, that’d ensure Garnacho remains a Red Devil for another couple of seasons.
