Man United are feeling good about their chances of tying Alejandro Garnacho down to a new contract.
Just a couple of days ago, we covered a claim that stated that Juventus were trying to sign Alejandro Garnacho on a free transfer. Exactly how they nabbed Paul Pogba from right under our noses.
Well, the Manchester Evening News have a positive update for us in that regard. They state that United are ‘confident’ of agreeing a new contract with the emerging star Garnacho.
Conversations are currently continuing between Garnacho and United, with the teenager set to be handed a new deal which will reflect his growing stature at Old Trafford.
Apparently, talks are progressing well right now, with United keen to reward their latest academy star for his development over the last year.
There were wrong reports yesterday which claimed that Garnacho only has a year left on his contract. In fact, the Argentine currently has a deal which runs until 2025 – but United want to keep their attacker happy, presumably by upping his wages.
United sources ‘arent surprised’ by the level of interest in Garnacho, who has enjoyed a whirlwind few months. From making his first-team debut, to earning an Argentina call-up, to winning the FA Youth Cup, this young man has the potential to go right the way to the top.
It’s worth noting, Garnacho only cost United a little over £400,000 a couple of years ago. That figure is rising week-on-week. He’ll no doubt play his part on pre-season tour, while signing this new contract will give the club that extra little bit of piece of mind.
More than anything, Garnacho knows that his future will be secure and he can focus solely on his football.
