Man United confirm Cameron Borthwick-Jackson has completed a loan move to Tranmere

Manchester United have begun their summer clearout, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sanctioning sales galore over the last week or so.

Credit to the Baby Faced Assassin for doing exactly that, while also trying to utilise the mega-talented crop of youngsters available at his disposal.

Some of those up-and-comers will naturally leave Old Trafford on loan. One man us United fans have certainly forgotten about is Cameron Borthwick-Jackson.

Today, United took to Twitter to confirm that the 22-year-old defender has left the Reds on loan. He’ll head to Tranmere Rovers for the 2019/20 campaign as the full-back looks to get that all-important playing time.

I genuinely forgot that this young man was still at the club. It wasn’t that long ago when he was starting Premier League games under Louis van Gaal; looking pretty impressive in the process.

However, Jose Mourinho just didn’t fancy him as a player and he spent the next few seasons out on loan. Again, he’ll depart from United on a short-term deal, though you get the impression it’s only a matter of time before he will be released or sold.

Hopefully, Borthwick-Jackson can go to Tranmere, impress, and secure himself some regular first-team football.

Good luck, Cameron!
