Man United have announced that they’ve agreed to sign Casemiro.
Manchester United Football Club are closing in on their fourth signing of the summer, and it’s a big one in the form of Casemiro.
The Brazil international is all set to make the move to Old Trafford, subject to the agreement of personal terms, a successful medical, and UK Visa requirements.
The Red Devils confirmed the news yesterday, with Casemiro expected to come in and become that stalwart defensive midfielder that United can build their team around.
Aged 30, Casemiro brings experience aplenty to the table. He also has that positional awareness, a joy for the ‘dark arts’ and the mindset to win at all costs.
It goes without saying, Casemiro is a direct upgrade on all the other midfielders currently at the club. The Brazil international has won everything there is to win in Spain, while I’m still so surprised that this deal has gone through. Casemiro has watched us recently, right…?
All jokes aside, Casemiro is an incredible coup. I guess it just goes to show that even despite all their flaws recently, the United name is still a huge pull to some players.
Don’t get me wrong, I know we’ll be paying Casemiro an incredible amount of money to sweeten the deal, but the fact he’s willing to make this move is definitely a huge positive for Erik ten Hag.
Sadly, the deal is not going to be done in time for Casemiro to feature against Liverpool on Monday night. However, he should have enough training sessions under his belt to be able to start the weekend after against Southampton.
Hopefully, the medical goes well and personal terms aren’t an issue.
