Man United have officially signed Joshua Zirkzee from Serie A side Bologna.
As is always the case, Manchester United are being linked with what feels like every name under the sun. However, the Old Trafford side have now made their first signing of the summer; Joshua Zirkzee.
The Dutch striker had found his name in the headlines frequently over the last few weeks, while it always felt like the Reds were waiting for the Netherlands to return home from the European Championship before anything concrete would happen.
Well, here we are, as United have confirmed that Zirkzee is now a Red Devil.
The forward has signed a five-year contract until 2029, while United have the option to extend that deal by a further year.
Zirkzee was named Serie A Young Player of the Year last season, having scored twelve goals and tacking on four assists for his teammates, during a stunning individual campaign for the young man.

Zirkzee also brings that winners mentality to the Theatre of Dreams, having won several trophies during his youth days at Bayern Munich.
The striker certainly seems ready for the challenge that playing for the biggest club in the country will bring, while this transfer certainly eases the goalscoring burden on Rasmus Hojlund – which is another big plus.
As of yet, we do not know what shirt number Zirkzee will wear for United, though it will be at least a few weeks before we see the tall striker in action. He will now be given some time off to enjoy his holiday and rest up.
Welcome to the biggest club in the world, Joshua!
