Man United have confirmed our worst fears, with Leny Yoro now out for multiple months.
We Manchester United fans were all super excited when Leny Yoro was signed from Lille in a surprising move, when it looked for all the world like he was heading for Real Madrid. We were even more excited when we saw his sensational debut against Rangers.
Sadly, Yoro would pick up an injury against Arsenal. Immediately, it looked like the defender was in real discomfort and we were all fearing the worst.
Now, those fears have been settled, with Yoro undergoing successful surgery, United have confirmed.
The talented teenager is now set to be sidelined for the next three months in a truly devastating blow for the Old Trafford side. We will not see Yoro back out on the pitch until at least November. Sadly, his Reds debut will have to wait…
This is just brutal news. Yoro was brought in to help sure up the back line which displayed inconsistencies galore last season. Although young, the Frenchman has all the qualities required to become the perfect partner for Lisandro Martinez.
Sadly, we will not get to see that combination until the winter period.
It means the likes of Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire will be playing regularly, unless United do decide to bring in someone like Matthijs de Ligt before the window closes in about a month.
For now, United will just have to cope without Yoro. On the plus side, the player himself can start to feel more comfortable in his new surroundings without the pressure of playing regular games for the biggest club in the country.
Let’s hope he’s staying positive and morale is high during this difficult period.
