Man United have said goodbye to Maxi Oyedele on a permanent deal.
Manchester United Football Club have been trying to trim down their playing squad ahead of the new season, while also bringing in some quality signings to help Erik ten Hag’s side.
The club are looking to lower the wage budget, by moving on from some fringe players who aren’t deemed good enough for the first-team.
Last summer, Zidane Iqbal was let go in a surprise move. He headed to FC Utrecht after looking sharp for United in friendly matches.
This time around, it’s Maxi Oyedele’s turn to depart after looking impressive on pre-season. The starlet played his part during the tour in midfield, looking like someone with serious potential for the future.
The club have confirmed that Oyedele will leave on a permanent deal after 12 years in Manchester. He will now play his football for Legia Warsaw.
The Manchester-born Polishman will return to the country he has represented at youth international level, looking to play football week-in-week-out – a luxury he would not have been afforded at Manchester United.
Oyedele has had to settle for two loan moves away recently. First, Altrincham, then Forest Green Rovers. The midfielder, who can also play in defence, will now be looking to make a real name for himself in a competitive Polish league.
This young man does have bags of potential. He’s still just nineteen years old and this is a major change in his life, having spent all of his career at Old Trafford to date.
I really do believe Oydele is a player that we should keep an eye on in future and fingers crossed there’s a buyback clause in his Legia Warsaw contract.
All the best, Maxi!
