Man United have announced the signings of both Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.
Manchester United Football Club are not hanging around under INEOS. The Old Trafford side are giving Erik ten Hag every bit of help he needs in order to make this Red Devils side successful.
Last night, two players were brought in. United announced the double signings last night, with both Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui joining the Old Trafford side.
Acquiring two important members of the Bayern Munich squad in one window was not easy, though credit to Dan Ashworth for going out there and getting both these players signed in a quick manner.
De Ligt, a top-class centre-half, adds extra depth and quality to an area of the field that has seen it’s fair share of struggles recently.
Mazraoui, a versatile full-back, feels like a direct replacement for Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the right-back position. The Spider now plays his football for West Ham United.
United have also announced the shirt numbers that their new duo will wear. De Ligt will take on the iconic number 4 jersey, while Mazraoui will be given the number 3.
Both have been registered in time to be in contention to take on Fulham at the weekend, beating Thursday’s 12:30 BST deadline. With injuries hitting the squad hard, both have a great chance at being involved in some capacity.
Once again, Ten Hag has displayed a preference to bring in players he’s familiar with. The gaffer has worked with both of these guys before, which should also make the transition to their new club that little bit easier.
